I’m Nandu Sasidharan, an Assistant Professor of Economics at the School of Arts and Sciences, Azim Premji University, Bengaluru. I was a doctoral candidate in economics at Tuscany University’s PhD programme at the University of Siena, Pisa and Florence. Formerly I was a visiting research scholar at the University of Groningen, Netherlands and a scholar in residence with Azim Premji University, Bengaluru. I completed my master’s in Economics from CESP, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India, and later worked as an Academic Associate in the Economics Area at IIM Kozhikode, India. I am also the co-founder and managing director of the Economiga Foundation, an initiative that aims to bridge the asymmetry in the field of economics by building a community.

📚 Areas of Interest

My research interests lie broadly in the realms of development macroeconomics, public finance, political economy, economic dynamics and behavioural macroeconomics. I am primarily working on topics such as public debt, dual economies, structural change, fiscal policy, heterogeneous agents, herd behaviour, and complexity.
